Airport Introduction
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the main airport serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area in North Texas. Opened in 1974, it is located between Dallas and Fort Worth, covering parts of Grapevine, Irving, Euless, and Coppell. DFW is a major hub for American Airlines and serves 269 destinations with 29 passenger airlines.
The airport has six terminals (A–F) with 224 gates and is connected by the Skylink automated people mover for fast travel between terminals. DFW is the second-largest airport in the U.S. by land area, the third-busiest in the world by aircraft movements, and the second-busiest by passenger traffic.
Terminal D handles most international flights, while American Airlines operates in all terminals. The airport also features extensive ground transport options, rental car facilities, and on-site hotels.
