Terminal 2 – Dubai Airport

Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport is a key hub for regional and low-cost flights, serving over five million passengers each year. It is mainly used by flydubai and several other budget airlines operating in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa.

Unlike Terminals 1 and 3, Terminal 2 is located in a separate building and is easily accessible through a free shuttle bus service that runs 24/7. With ongoing expansion work, the terminal’s capacity is expected to grow to accommodate up to ten million passengers annually.

📍 Location & Direction

Located on the northern edge of Dubai International Airport (DXB), Terminal 2 has a dedicated entrance and access route separate from Terminals 1 and 3. While it isn’t connected internally to the other terminals, travelers can easily move between terminals using the complimentary 24/7 shuttle bus service provided by the airport.

Getting to Terminal 2

Whether you’re arriving from the city or another terminal, there are several transport options:

  • By Car/Taxi: Terminal 2 is around 5–6 km from central Dubai and about 10–15 minutes by taxi, depending on traffic. Just set “Dubai Airport Terminal 2” in your navigation app.
  • By Metro: The Dubai Metro does not stop directly at Terminal 2. However, you can get off at Abu Hail or Stadium Metro Station on the Green Line and take a short taxi ride to the terminal.
  • By Bus: Several RTA buses stop near Terminal 2, including routes like C26, which connects to other parts of Dubai.
  • From Other Terminals: Use the free shuttle bus that runs every 20–30 minutes between Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

If you’re heading to Terminal 2 from downtown areas like Deira, Bur Dubai, or Business Bay, travel times are usually short, making it a convenient option for budget-conscious flyers.
